Something I Want to Mention About Dogs

,

When I write a story, and immediately after publishing it, I usually realize something I forgot and want to mention about dogs. Sometimes it is an important date or a person’s name, and I try to correct it before my readers notice the omission.

But Spanky usually is the first person to complain – although he’s not serious – he likes to annoy me. But we remain best friends, and I can dish it out and receive – or however, the saying goes.

So, last Sunday (March 4th), I decided to pause writing in my journal for an extended period.

I should have just posted a notice like this – and kept my site open.

However, I have received many calls and emails asking if I was okay or why I had closed my website.

But I’m selling my home and must find a place to live.

I’m also trying to spend as much time as possible with my dog Holly Golightly, who has Cushing’s Disease – a form of cancer in humans and older dogs.

Holly was there when I had stage 3 throat cancer in 2009. I was only given a 40% chance of surviving.

In addition to the excellent care I received at the cancer center, the love, and nursing I received from Holly were essential in my chemotherapy and radiation treatments and recovery.

And I know I’ll be heartbroken and alone when she is gone.

In the meantime, please have a look at my other journal entries.

There are approximately 200+ stories, all based on actual events.

I never write about politics, religion, or sex; I focus on exciting memories for my storytelling.

So, folks, I will still be here – writing my stories and remaining hopeful for Holly Golightly.

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Dedicated to Holly Golightly.

I hope my stories are a gift to your head and heart.

Hugs,

Danny

Today’s tune from Danny’s library (purchased):

And I Love You So – Don McLean

And I love you so
The people ask me how
How I’ve lived till now
I tell them, “I don’t know.”

I guess they understand
How lonely life has been
But life began again
The day you took my hand

And yes, I know how lonely life can be
The shadows follow me
And the night won’t set me free
But I don’t let the evening get me down
Now that you’re around me

And you love me too
Your thoughts are just for me
You set my spirit free
I’m happy that you do

The book of life is brief
And once a page is read
All but love is dead
This is my belief

And yes, I know how loveless life can be
The shadows follow me
And the night won’t set me free
But I don’t let the evening bring me down
Now that you’re around me

And I love you so
The people ask me how
How I’ve lived till now
I tell them, “I don’t know.”
