I have decided to go dark and not write on my website or social media until the Ukraine invasion has ended or I go for surgery.
Going dark is my way of expressing the horror I felt after viewing news coverage of the recent brutal treatment of innocent women, children, animals and the brave men defending their country against this Russian genocide of an entire nation of innocent people.
I just cannot bring myself to write any more of my usual trivial stuff – while so many people are dying.
The images that I have seen in the news media (other than FOX News) leave me no alternative than to take a sabbatical from writing until peace is restored and the dictator Putin is held accountable for the worst human genocide since the Second World War.
I am going to be going through some medical procedures in the near future, and I need to be focused on getting healthy again.
But I will begin writing again as soon as I enter the hospital for the surgery on my jaw.
I expect to be in hospital for at least two weeks.
Please keep me in your thoughts but not your prayers – save those for Ukraine and its people.
Dedicated with love to Ukraine
I hope my stories are a gift to your head and heart.
Hugs,
Danny
Today’s tune from Danny’s library (purchased).
Another day is at end
Mama says she’s tired again
No one can even begin to tell her
I hardly know what to say
But maybe it’s better that way
If Papa were here, I’m sure he’d tell her
Shannon is gone, I hope she’s drifting out to sea
She always loved to swim away
Maybe she’ll find an island with a shaded tree
Just like the one in our backyard
Mama tries hard to pretend
Things will get better again
Somehow, she’s keeping it all inside her
But finally, the tears fill our eyes
And I know that somewhere tonight
She knows how much we really miss her
Shannon is gone, I hope she’s drifting out to sea
She always loved to swim away
Maybe she’ll find an island with a shaded tree
Just like the one in our backyard
Just like the one in our backyard
